Girls Centre of Excellence
The Norwich City FC Girls Centre of Excellence enables girls to play football at the highest level in the East of England. Each year over 200 girls attend trials held in June / July allowing girls to competed to gain their place in our prestigious centre.
Those players who are successful enough to receive a place are given the chance to have regular coaching from qualified, experienced staff, including specific goalkeeping coaching.
This programme is our girls advanced programme, the Centre of Excellence is now in its 8th year and the Centre has steadily progressed over this period.
The girls play regular fixtures in the Girls Centre of Excellence East & East Midlands Regional League at U10, U12, U14 & U16 level. The girls play against other professional football clubs that include, Rushden & Diamonds, Ipswich, Northampton, Cambridge and friendlies against Leicester, Colchester and Chelsea.
Each year the girls are invited to tournaments and to take part in residential tours, which have included in the past, Holland, Spain, Italy for the U14 & U16 squads and Blackpool, Dorset, Brighton, Bournemouth for the U10 and U12 squads. Giving the girls the opportunity to spend time away from home and with their squads as part of our personal development programme.
As well as playing football the girls are involved in fitness assessments and health awareness workshops. The parents too are asked to be involved with their very own specific parent workshops.
