AVIVA Footy Finance Day for Hewett High

On Wednesday 17th June, a select group pupils from Hewett high school attended an "AVIVA Footy Finance" day at Carrow Road with the Football in the Community and Study Centre Staff.

During the morning the group was divided into 4 separate boards of directors and had the luxury of £20M at their disposal as they took over the role of NCFC board for the day.

Groups had to decide how they were going to divide their money between player sales, stadium improvements and other initiatives from holding pop concerts to increasing merchandising.

Groups then presented their ideas to a panel of judges before being allocated points for their overall project management and delivery.

These points were then converted to financial sums ready for the afternoon's events. The board then got to see the day-to-day problems a football team faces through a series of small-sided games . Star players were injured for 3 months, players suspended for games and clubs being find for off the field incidents in a make belief fantasy football situation.

FITC Schools Development Officer, Steve Bramble said, the quality of the morning presentations were a real credit to the school and the behaviour and enthusiasm of the children has set a standard for upcoming events. It's a great way of linking sport to a finance and business lesson for pupils with the help of the clubs sponsors Aviva
