Bawdeswell Primary crowned FITC School of the month for November

The past half term has seen the pupils and staff of Bawdeswell Primary  school take part in a series of multi skills sessions though their School Sports Partnership. 

The aim of the multi skills programme has been to develop the physical literacy of the through a series of fun sessions incorporating disguised learning. Focusing on Agility, Balance, Coordination and Speed the children get the chance to use a variety of innovative equipment to help them develop.

 Staff from the school have also had the opportunity to further their own personal development in the hope that they will be able to continue the work started this half term.

 The programme is part of the West Norwich and Dereham School Sports Programmes attempt to encourage more youngsters to take an active role in sport from an early age.

 Partnership Development Manager, Rob McCombe added,

"The West Norwich & Dereham SSP is 100% committed to the sporting development of its schools, staff & young people - the impact of multiskills delivery has been incredible. The partnership with FITC has been fantastic and is getting better all the time, with new initiatives being set up such as the first ever Virtual Multi Skills competition in Norfolk, the training & development of our Young Leaders and the introduction of Multi Skills Academies for our gifted & talented youngsters"

FITC Coach employ several multi skill coaches, Laurence York who has been delivering at the school said

"The way the children have reacted to the sessions has been fantastic, it is clear to see an improvement has been made amongst the classes in general."

FITC would like to thank the West Norwich and Dereham School Sports Partnership for their support in making the multi skills programme the success it has been as we look to move onto new schools as of November.
