Euro 2008 Football Festival
Football in the Community has recently been working with the North Norfolk School Sport Partnership to deliver a Euro 2008 Football festival. Year 3 and 4 pupils attended the festival from 9 of the partnerships local school, Each School representing a different nation on the day.
The Afternoon started with the schools being put through their paces by the FITC coaches in a fun coaching session before they went into their small-sided games against other schools.
The format of the festival meant that emphasis was on participation and enjoyment rather than results with all matches being played in an excellent spirit.
FITC Schools Development Officer Steve Bramble said, "It has been an excellent opportunity for local schools to get together and celebrate euro 2008. The standard has been very high and the children seem to have really enjoyed representing their chosen nations over the day"
The day was a great success with Partnership Development Manager, Asa Saunders going on to add
""I wanted to promote Euro 2008 to the North Norfolk Schools, and it was a great chance to see 90 pupils from 9 primary schools who have not had the opportunity to participate in a football festival have fun, learn new skills and develop their confidence""
Congratulations to all the schools who took part in the event and the teams they represented.
