Kickz having a positive effect on local Cobholm community…
The Kickz Project has seen huge results in Cobholm with regards to anti-social behaviour and crime reduction, which have been backed by the police statistics.
All the partners involved in the project have been delivering a number of sessions from boxing, dance, health awareness, gun & knife crime and drug awareness to better educate and give opportunities to the local children.
With the Project running now for 7 weeks old and already over 100 children signed up to the course. Vast progress has been made in such a short space of time, and credit must go to all the partners involved, Football Foundation, Active Norfolk, Youth Inclusion Support Panel, Football in the Community, Broadland Housing Association, Community Connections, Wherry Housing Association, Norfolk Constabulary, Gt Yarmouth Borough Council, Community Connections, MP Tony Wright, Gt Yarmouth Sports Trust, Norfolk County FA, Princes Trust and Cliff Park School Sports Partnership.
Gavin Coe FITC Social Inclusion Officer said " Kickz has had a massive effect in the Cobholm area of Great Yarmouth. We have seen over 65 children attend each night which has proved a massive success, and the police stats prove the work that has been done in the area has had a massive effect on anti social behaviour and crime, which is very pleasing."
Ian Thornton - Director Football in the Community
"We are very pleased to see the Organisations involved assisting the delivery of these types of much needed sessions along side our FITC staff and look forward to making a positive impact on the local Cobholm Community".
