Kickz
The "Kickz" project aims to increase the amount of 12-19 year old young people taking part in positive activity. The sessions run 3 nights a week for 48 weeks of the year.
The programme aims to ‘build safer, stronger communities through the development of young people's potential'. As well as football coaching and competitions, Kickz offers a range of other positive activities including basketball, street dance, boxing as well as music and arts workshops. Developmental and educational sessions are also run, dealing with issues such as healthy lifestyles and the dangers of getting involved in drugs and carrying weapons. The sessions allow young people, including minority groups, to get involved in their community, break down barriers and and make steps towards personal achievements.
Football in the Community are able to run 5 Kickz projects across Norfolk at Bowthorpe, Kings Lynn, Dereham, North Walsham and Cobholm thanks to funding given by the DCSF through the Youth Sector Development Fund and the Football Foundation.
