Disability Tournaments and Festivals

FITC take great pleasure in providing competitive opportunities for players from local schools, colleges and day care centres by running their ever popular 5 aside Grand Prix Leagues.

The leagues are played over 3/6 dates of the season where the teams are ability banded, giving the competition more realism, and the points are added up and carried over until the 3rd date where players are awarded participation medals and trophies.

Schools involved:

Ashley School, Sidestrand Hall, Fred Nicholson School, Parkside School, Ethel Tipple, Harford Manor, Chapel Road, The Hall School, The Warren School, John Grant School, Rivewalk School, The Clare School, Eaton Hall & Sheringham Woodfields.

Introduced new for 2009-10, Football in the Community will be looking to work with the Special Needs Units in local colleges in the form of a specific college grand prix league in a bid incorporate more players from 16-19 to take part and represent their college.

Also, working alongside Norfolk County FA, FITC are looking to work with Charter Standard Clubs who are looking to form disability teams under their remit and form an U16 11 aside league to give players with disabilities the opportunity to play competitive football out-side of curriculum time.

If you would like to enter a team into an Ability Counts Tournament or would like to know how to become involved in playing in a team then please contact the Disability Officer at Football in the Community at [email protected] or phone 01603 761122.
