"When I was young I began playing football by getting my mates together and finding a local park or field for a kick about, but I’m not sure that our communities are safe enough for young children to play and learn by themselves anymore".

Group shotJackie Payne, Football Development Officer for FITC explains:

"There are a large number of Children from deprived areas around Norwich that have no opportunities to play football, have no transport or parental support to get to play football and have such overwhelming issues, challenging behaviour or disabilities that they are not always welcome to take part".

"For many of those children they sometimes become a nuisance to the local community and are subjected to influences such as drugs, alcohol and substance abuse".

FITC hopes that the Appeal will raise much needed cash to help provide activities for children and enable them work with many organisations including Nacro, Sport Partnerships Around Norwich, Special Olympics, Day Care Services and the Early Yearly Childcare and Development Partnership to provide support, advice and guidance to unqualified, disabled, mis-guided, and disassociated children.

FITC aim to introduce 5 new initiatives to the Community including; coaching for Special Needs Schools and Adults with Disabilities, activities and support to Disadvantaged Children and establish a New Multi Sports Child Care Programme to encourage parents to return to work from Disadvantaged areas.

If you or your local organisation would like to make a donation to the Appeal to help build a better future for children please contact Jackie Payne at the FITC Office on 01603-761122.

With your help we can make a difference to children in your community.
