Kickz makes positive start to the New Year…

The Kickz Project has seen huge results in Cobholm with regards to anti-social behaviour and crime reduction, which have been backed by the police statistics.

The young people have been able to engage in boxing, dance, health awareness, gun & knife workshop, sexual health advice, and drug awareness to better educate and give opportunities through sport to the young people.

Kickz has been running now for only 6 months and has already had over 125 young people signed up to the course. Vast progress has been made in such a short space of time. This has been hugely down to all the partners involved, Football Foundation, Active Norfolk, Youth Inclusion Support Panel, Football in the Community, Broadland Housing Association, Community Connections, Wherry Housing Association, Norfolk Constabulary, Gt Yarmouth Borough Council, Community Connections, MP Tony Wright, Gt Yarmouth Sports Trust, Norfolk County FA, Princes Trust and Cliff Park School Sports Partnership.

Jim Smerdon - Superintendent for Great Yarmouth Police Said:  " We are really pleased to be involved with these types of projects with NCFC and their partners. We want this project to have a continued positive impact on the local young people."

To get involved with the project, please come down to (The Cage) at Cobholm on Tuesday's, Thursday's and Friday's between 5-7pm. Or alternatively you can contact the Kickz Co-ordinator on 01603 761122 or by email [email protected].
