Norwich City Girls Centre of Excellence Easter Tour 2010

Day 1

The Girls arrived safe and sound to Sherwood Forest Centre Parc's. It was a quick turnaround as the girls explored, unpacked then made their way to the bus ready for the short trip to Sheffield.

The 14 and 16's had a bite to eat while the 10's and 12s' kicked their tour off.  It was goals galore for the 10's with Hope (5), Lauren (3), Aimee and Summer all getting on the score sheet.  The 12's were involved in a game against a side that matched them through out and with both sides having opportunities they were unable to beat the two goal keepers.

The 14's played in the indoor arena and soon found themselves in front.  With both sides evenly matched it was no surprise that Sheffield United carved out an equaliser. Goalscorer for Norwich was Ellie S.

The 16's faced a tough Sheffield Utd side who was causing the norwich defence quite a few problems and conceded early on.  Up the other end however they were causing problems themselves but just couldn't find the finishing touch!  Finally thoroughly deserved a consolation strike from Deanna opened their scoring account for the tour.

The girls even found time to help celebrate Summer, Katie and Deanna's birthday by singing Happy Birthday and presenting the pair of them a cake.  The girls then made the short trip back to Centre Parc's where they settled into their villas for their first night.

Day 2

Girls were treated to breakfast by their coaches, a choice of cereal, toast, crumpets, cereal bars, fruit, boiled eggs were on the menu.

The girls then made their way to the coach for their visit to Stoke-on-Trent to play Crewe.  The 10's were determined to continue their excellent start to 2010 but were up against a team also in fine form.  In what was to be a end to end game both sides were equally matched with City just losing out. Goalscorers for Norwich City FC were Aimee P and Lauren.

The U12's took a while to settle into their game and had to come from behind with Katie K (2) and Flo on the score sheet, like the 10's they narrowly lost out.  U14's came out on top but had to come from behind in their game, Jodie D and Ellie S both scored from the penalty spot.

For any neutral watching the U16 game this was the game of the day.  It was like watching a game of table tennis, end to end with goals either end.  Both sides deserved a share of the spoils Lucy (2), Coz (2), Charlie all on the score sheet.

With beautiful sunshine the girls decided that the coaches needed a cool down and boy did they get it!
Back to the villa for the Easter Egg hunt! The coaches hid the eggs for the girls to find.  For some reason there seemed to be one missing! Paige was last seen trying locate the elusive egg!

Next up was 'Restaurant in your villas'; with the coaches cooking the girls their evening meal of pasta, pizza, baked beans, sausages all on the menu.  The day wasn't over as the girls made their way to the swimming pool before returning back to their villas and bed.

Day 3

After a nice sleep-in the girls were treated to breakfast in their villas before heading to the village to purchase their tour souveniers.  The girls then caught the tour bus to make their way to Birmingham to play their third and final fixture.

The 10's once again put in a stirling performnce, and in a game full of goals the final result finished all square.  Goal scorers were Hope, Lauren (2), Bethan and an own goal which Hope is trying to claim.

The 12's finished their tour campaign with a much improved performance.  Goal scorers were Brooke and Katie K.

The 14's and 16's both faced physical opposition and despite losing by the odd goal can be proud of their overall tour performance.  Goal scorers for 14's were Maddie and Katherine and the goal scorer for the 16's was Charlie.

The girls returned from their fixture made a quick change and headed off to the restaurant.  The girls had a choice of Pasta Bake, Hot Dogs, Meatballs, Baked Beans, Fish Cakes, Chicken Nuggets, Chips, Salad, Vegetables and much much more...  If that wasn't enough they even managed to squeeze in a desert.

Back in the villas the girls then prepared for their tour variety performance all of which will be revealed at the end of season presentation.  The girls then packed their bags ready for the depart in the morning.
